he Ballas Story originates in Greece, the land of our forefathers. It is the story of Demetrius Ballas who left his homeland at the turn of the 20th century to implement his plan for a better life for his family. It is the story of a man who took the risk of separating six of his eight sons from their Mother in order to find opportunities for them all.

Our story is one of courage and perseverance in the face of the challenges these sons of Demetrius encountered when they left their home in search a better life in America. The story gives use a glimpse of the heartbroken mother, Eleni, who saw them leave for a country over 5,000 miles away

without ever knowing if she would see them again. It is also about two of her sons who remained behind, and how the children of these sons immigrated to Australia in their own search for a better life.

It is a story of a family living on three separate continents, yet connected by a unique and unbreakable bond. We also may learn from the story what it means to be "uniquely Ballas".
